About Phytech:
Phytech are the largest IoT agtech service provider in Australia with a footprint across all the major irrigated regions. The Phytech service centers around a range of proprietary plant and environmental sensors, along with cloud-based algorithms, that enable growers to view the real time irrigation needs of their crops. Data is collected and analyzed automatically, then displayed to the grower using a simple smartphone or web interface. Irrigation automation control recently became an optional addition to the Phytech offering. This all leads to improved water use efficiency, optimised yields and higher quality produce. The business model is solution-as-a-service, whereby Phytech develops, owns, deploys and maintains the necessary field hardware and the grower pays a seasonal subscription fee. Target irrigated crops for the Sunraysia region include apples, pears, stonefruit, walnuts, cherries and grapes. The service is already in use across Sunraysia for the last eight years by a growing mix of family farms and major corporate operations.

A hands-on technical field role, predominantly working outdoors

As this is predominantly field work, you will be based from your home in the Sunraysia region. This might include Mildura, Wentworth, Nangiloc, Wemen, Robinvale, or other towns between those examples. The Mildura office is also available for office work if required.
Regular travel throughout the Sunraysia is required, along with infrequent travel to other regions like Riverina (Griffith, NSW), Riverland (Renmark, SA) and Goulburn Valley (Shepparton, Vic).

A background in irrigated agriculture and/or a graduate agronomist will be highly regarded but not essential.
A $60,000 - $75,000 annual salary package commensurate with experience, plus a company vehicle, phone allowance, all necessary tools and equipment, computer and superannuation
Reporting to the Sunraysia Territory Manager, you will be responsible for installing and configuring the sensor hardware in the field for our agricultural clients. This role has a regional focus across Sunraysia and will require a considerable amount of travel, so you will need a valid driver's licence and be prepared to spend an occasional night away from home. You must have the legal right to live and work in Australia to be considered for the role. There is an opportunity for career progression for the right candidate as the business continues to grow. If you are highly motivated, enjoy working outdoors and can be trusted to work autonomously then we would like to hear from you. Experience in the agriculture sector is preferred but not critical. Please email info@phytech.com.au with any further questions relating to this role. Applications close Monday 3rd July, 2023.
